Waste Aware North Lanarkshire - Blue Bin Paper Kerbside Collection.

The North Lanarkshire Blue Bin Paper Kerbside Collection scheme began on 11th August 2003. A blue bin has been provided for the collection of paper waste in North Lanarkshire.

Residents of Coatbridge, Shotts, Harthill, Airdrie, Wishaw, Viewpark and Stepps can participate in this scheme.

What is and what isn't allowed in your blue bin.

Please note that plastic bags should not be put in this bin.

The following items are allowed in your blue bin:

  • computer paper
  • directories
  • holiday brochures
  • junk mail (please remember to remove your name & address)
  • magazines
  • newpapers


The following items are not allowed in your blue bin:

  • yellow pages

Your blue bin will be collected monthly and should be put out on the kerbside by 7am on your collection day.
