North East Fife Green Waste Kerbside Recycling

This scheme began on the 16th June 2003. YOUR brown bin has been provided for the collection of green waste.

Over the next few months, 10,000 households will receive a BROWN bin in which they can recycle their green waste.

If you live in one of the households covered by this scheme, you can recycle the following in your BROWN bin:

  • coffee grounds
  • flowers and plants
  • fruit and vegetable waste
  • garden weeds
  • grass clippings
  • hedge trimmings
  • leaves
  • prunings
  • tea leaves and bags

Please help us to get it sorted: do not place any of the following items in your BROWN bin:

  • aluminium foil
  • cans and tins
  • carpets
  • cat and dog waste
  • clothes
  • cotton buds
  • glass
  • household chemicals
  • meat and dairy products
  • nappies
  • paper
  • plant pots and labels
  • plastic
  • soil
  • vacuum cleaner dust
  • wallpaper strippings

Your BROWN bin will be collected fortnightly between March and November and monthly between December and February. Please ensure that your brown bin is out on the kerbside by 7am on your collection day.

If you are unsure about which day or dates your BROWN bin will be emptied or have any other questions, please email waste.aware@fife.gov.uk or telephone 01334 412262.
