Waste Aware East Renfrewshire - Green Waste Kerbside Recycling

The East Renfrewshire Green Waste Kerbside Recycling scheme begins on the 1st September 2003. A Brown bin has been provided for the collection of green waste in Clarkston, Giffnock and Newton Mearns.

What is and what isn't allowed in your Brown bin.

Please note that plastic bags should not be put in the Brown bin.

The following items are allowed in your Brown bin:

  • flowers & plants
  • fruit & vegetable waste
  • hedge clippings
  • lawn mowings & weeds
  • sawdust & wood shavings
  • small branches & bark

It is important that only the correct recyclates go into your Brown bin to ensure that good quality compost is produced.

Your Brown bin will be collected every two weeks from April to October. Outwith this time you can take your green waste to be recycled at Carlibar Road, Barrhead and Greenhags, Ayr Road and Loganswell.
