Face the facts

Record Editorial

GREEDY, wasteful and thoughtless. Recognise yourself?

You should, if you live in a Scottish city, according to environment body WWF.

They say the inhabitants of our four biggest cities are guilty of gross over-consumption. We eat too much imported food, dump more material than we recycle, consume too much energy, pollute our atmosphere and rely too much on cars instead of public transport, cycling and walking.

If everybody else was as environmentally unfriendly as we are, we'd need another couple of planets.

Let's not be insulted by the description. Let's face the facts and do what we can to save the planet we have.
