Grampian: Facilities

The City of Aberdeen: Reuse

You can donate your old furniture and white goods to the Instant Neighbour scheme, who will refurbish it and distribute it to those who are in need.

The City of Aberdeen: Recycle

Recycling in the Grampian area is mainly done via Recycling Centres and Points.

In Aberdeen City, you can recycle:

  • aluminium and steel cans
  • batteries
  • glass bottles and jars
  • green waste
  • household chemicals
  • paper
  • plastic bottles
  • scrap metal
  • textiles
  • waste oil

Paper is collected at the kerbside from 80% of Aberdeen City. To find out if your street is on a collection route please call 01224 552 225.

Aberdeenshire: Reuse

You can donate your old paint to Community Re-Paint, who will use it for charitable work.

Moray: Reuse

There are reuse schemes for wood waste (WoodRecyclability and Moray Wood Recycling) and computers and IT equipment (ReBOOT)


Moray: Recycle

At recycling centres and points in Moray, you can recycle:

  • aluminium and steel cans
  • cardboard
  • glass bottles and jars
  • paper
  • textiles

The Moray Council offer a Special Collection service. This service is provided free of charge to uplift items which are in excess or too large for your Wheeled Bin. If you would like to book a special collection please telephone 01343 569106 between 8.30am and 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
