Waste Aware Stirling - University Campus Recycling

WHAT can I recycle?

Recycling points have been provided across the Stirling University Campus to allow you to recycle the following materials:

  • Clear plastic drinks bottles (no coloured plastic bottles)
  • Drinks cans
  • Glass bottles & jars
  • Paper

Please help us to get it sorted:
Make sure that bottles and drinks cans are empty before placing them into your recycling points.

Remove lids from your bottles and jars before placing them into the recycling points.

Do not put other waste such as plastic sandwich boxes, food packaging, foam cups, plastic cups or paper napkins into any of your recycling points as these cannot currently be recycled.

Please place your clear plastic bottles, drinks cans, glass bottles and jars and paper into the correct recycling points.

WHY should I recycle?

Clear drinks bottles will be sorted and recycled into new plastic products such as the benches outside Haldanes.

Drinks cans will be sorted and recycled into new cans, sheet metal and building materials.

Glass bottles & jars will be crushed and recycled into new glass bottles and jars.

Paper is sorted and sent to paper mills to be recycled into a variety of paper products.
