Waste Aware Perth and Kinross: Paper Kerbside Recycling

On the 4th of October 2004, a Waste Aware campaign was launched to promote the long established Paper Kerbside Recycling scheme and to introduce 8500 new households to the scheme.  There are now 38,500 households throughout Perth and Kinross that recieve this service.

WHO can recycle?

YOUR blue lidded bin has been provided to allow YOU to recycle your paper waste.

WHAT can I recycle?


Please put the following materials into your BLUE lidded bin:

  • Brochures
  • Junk mail
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Office quality paper

It is important that only the correct materials go into your BLUE lidded bin.

Please do not put the following materials into your BLUE lidded bin:

  • Books
  • Cardboard
  • Envelopes
  • Plastic
  • Telephone directories

WHY should I recycle?

After your paper waste is collected it will be taken to a reprocessing plant where it is pulped and recycled into newsprint and other paper products.

WHEN can I recycle?

Your BLUE lidded bin will be collected every four weeks on the dates shown in your collection calender.  Please put your BLUE lidded bin out for collection by 7.30 am with the lid fully closed and no side waste.
