Angus School Pupils Rise to Yellow Woods Challenge

Over 21 Angus schools collected 4,698 old Yellow Pages weighing 3.6 tonnes as part of the Yellow Woods Challenge organised by Yellow Pages and Woodlands Trust in association with Angus Council.

Winner of the local Golden Oak title and prize money of £300 was Aberlemno Primary School with a remarkable 9.5 directories collected per pupil. The Silver Birch, and prize for collecting the most directories in total, went to Ferryden Primary School with the Bronze Beech going to Hayshead Nursery.

Not only will all 4,698 directories be recycled into new paper but also for every pound of prize money awarded a matching pound will be donated to the Woodlands Trust in support of the Trees for All campaign.
