Scottish Business in the Community (SBC) and Quality Scotland (QS) have joined forces to bring you a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conference, which will go beyond the usual showcasing of CSR activity to challenge and inform understanding of this important area for both public and private sector organisations. The event will inform the CSR agenda with contributions from organisations showing leadership in the field, including SBC Large Company of the Year winner, KPMG LLP (UK). The first half of the event will profile how you can move from the organic development of CR to gaining strategic control of the area, how impact measurement can be applied and how organisations achieve middle and senior management buy-in. The second half will investigate how government can appropriately support the development of CR in Scotland. We will investigate where social enterprise fits in the arena and how we can achieve the informed understanding required in the private, public and voluntary sectors for CR to be a sustainable differentiating factor for Scottish business and Scotland as a whole. info@qualityscotland.co.uk

Venue:
Dynamic Earth Centre, Edinburgh

Waste is now regarded as a resource of both materials and energy. In today's integrated waste management plans, it is widely accepted that reduction and recycling can exist with energy recovery. But many questions still remain -
  • What approach is best to achieve landfill diversion targets?
  • Which technologies offer the most efficient energy generation?
  • Which technologies work best for rural, low-density populations, and which for urban markets?
  • What role will Solid Recovered Fuel play in the energy requirements for industry?
  • How will the financing be structured?
  • How can public confidence and acceptance issues be resolved?
These and many other questions will be considered at the second Energy from Waste in Scotland conference. It is your opportunity to access the very best information from leading experts in a wide range of fields, and provides the chance to network with a broad range of delegates in this rapidly expanding market.
