Edinburgh Pilot Tenemental Recycling Service

In December 2004, Recycling Points were provided for tenemental properties in Edinburgh.  This pilot scheme has been introduced to 150 households in Gorgie.

WHO can recycle?

The City of Edinburgh Council is making it easier for YOU to recycle YOUR waste.  Your area is being provided with new Recycling Points to recycle paper and certain types of clean packaging waste.

WHAT can I recycle?

Please use the Points with the BLUE lids to recycle newspapers and magazines.

Please use the Points with the GREEN lids to recycle cans, plastic bottles and cardboard.

Please DO NOT put glass or other materials into the Recycling Points.

Separate glass and textile Recycling Points are located on Wheatfield Road beside the bowling green.

HOW can I recycle?

Your paper is pulped and recycled into newsprint and can be back in the newsagents within one week.

Your cardboard, cans and plastic bottles are sorted and recyled into items such as boxes, cans, fridges and cookers, garden furniture and compost bins.

WHEN can I recycle?

You can start using the new Recycling Points as soon as they arrive. With your help we will make this pilot scheme a success.
