Western Isles: Campaigns

SWAG has carried out surveys in the Western Isles Waste Strategy Area. This was done in order to determine public attitudes and behaviour towards waste. Based on this, we are developing campaigns to engage members of the public in more sustainable waste managment.

A pilot Kerbside Recycling campaign is planned for the Western Isles in early 2005. Following the pilot, the Kerbside Recycling collection will be introduced to a larger number of households. There are plans to increase the number of Recycling Points, introduce a green waste Kerbside Recycling collection and target businesses with specific requirements.

You can contact the Waste Aware Western Isles team via the Waste Aware Western Isles Helpline on: 01851 709900 or e-mail at: wasteaware@cne-siar.gov.uk.
