Perth and Kinross Garden Waste Kerbside Recycling

Since the 5th of July 2004 the Perth and Kinross Garden Waste Collection Scheme was made available to 23,500 households throughout Perth and Kinross.

WHAT can I recycle?


The following items are allowed in your BROWN lidded bin:

  • Coffee grounds & tea bags/leaves
  • Flowers and plants
  • Grass cuttings
  • Hedge trimmings
  • leaves
  • Sawdust and bard
  • Small twigs
  • Uncooked fruit and vegetable waste
  • Weeds

The following items are not allowed in your BROWN lidded bin:

  • Cooked food, meat, fish or dairy products
  • Large branches and logs
  • Plastic bags/bin bags
  • Soil, stones or rubble

WHY should I recycle?

After your garden waste is collected, it will be taken to a central composting facility.

WHEN can I recycle?

Your BROWN lidded bin will be collected every two weeks in the summer and every four weeks in the winter on the dates provided in your collection calender.

Please put your BROWN lidded bin out for collection by 7.30 am with the lid fully closed and no side waste.
