'Do A Little, Change A Lot' or DALCAL We are now entering year 2 of the Executive's Do A Little, Change A Lot' (DALCAL) environment campaign. So far we have tackled climate change as a topic and we are about to expand the reach of the campaign to encompass awareness of waste issues. DALCAL is an awareness campaign and as such aims to raise the profile of key environmental issues, hopefully converting this to behavioural change over time. We measure the success of the campaign on an annual basis via a quantitative research study in late September/early October. The baseline for this was carried out in 2000 and so far we have seen statistically significant changes in attitudes (copies of the research are available for those interested in finding out more). There are no specific targets for the campaign as these are incorporated within the existing policy areas of the Executive. Emma Taylor, Scottish Executive.
