Waste Aware North Lanarkshire - Paper Kerbside Recycling

On the 22nd of November 2004, the Paper Kerbside Recycling scheme that began in 2003 was expanded to allow more households in North Lanarkshire to recycle paper from their doorsteps.

WHO can recycle?

YOUR blue bin has been provided to allow YOU to recycle YOUR paper.

WHAT can I recycle?

Please put the following paper recyclates (materials that can be recycled) into your BLUE bin:

  • Newspapers
  • Magazines
  • Brochures
  • Card packaging (cereal boxes etc)
  • Junk mail contents
  • Office paper
  • Telephone directories (including Yellow and White Pages)

Please help us to get it sorted.

It is important that only the correct paper recyclates go into your BLUE bin.

Please do not put brown cardboard, envelopes or plastic bags into your BLUE bin as these make the sorting process more difficult.

WHY should I recycle?

After your waste paper is collected, it will be recycled into a variety of paper products.

In North Lanarkshire over 3,500 tonnes of paper was collected from Kerbside Blue bins in 2004.

WHEN can I recycle?

Your blue bin will be emptied every month on the dates shown on your collection calendars.

Please put your bin out for collection by 7.00am.
