Dundee Garden Waste Kerbside Recycling

Since the 16th of August 2004, the Dundee garden waste collection scheme has been available to 30,000 households throughout Dundee.

WHAT can I recycle?

You can put the following into your BROWN bin:

  • Flowers
  • Grass cuttings
  • Hedge trimmings
  • Leaves
  • Plants
  • Small branches & bark
  • Twigs
  • Weeds

Please do not put any of the following materials in your BROWN bin:

  • Kitchen waste
  • Meat & dairy products
  • Plastic bags
  • Soil or stones

WHY should I recycle?

Your garden waste is taken to the Riverside Composting Facility where it is processed and turned into Discovery Compost which is on sale at Riverside as an alternative to peat-based products.

WHEN can I recycle?

Your brown bin will be emptied from the kerbside according to your collection schedule. Please put your bin on the kerbside by 7.30 am on your scheduled collection date provided on your collection calender.
