Dumfries & Galloway Paper Kerbside Recycling

The Dumfries & Galloway Paper Kerbside Recycling scheme began on the 3rd March 2004. A blue box has been provided for the collection of paper waste to 52,700 households in the Dalbeattie area, Stewartry, Wigtownshire and Nithsdale. This scheme is expected to be region wide by the end of the year.

WHAT

The following items are allowed in your blue box:

  • Contents of junk mail
  • General paper
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Office paper
  • White telephone directories

The following items are not allowed in your blue box:

  • Cardboard
  • Envelopes
  • Plastics
  • Yellow Pages


WHY

After your paper is collected it will be sent for reprocessing where it is pulped and recycled into newsprint and other paper products.

WHEN

Your blue box is collected every 2 weeks on your collection day stated in the leaflet provided.

Please put your blue box out for collection by 7am at your normal collection point.
